Catherine PerezMS, RD, LDN
Catherine Perez is a licensed Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her supervised dietetic practice at the University of Houston in Houston, TX.Growing up, Catherine did not always have nutrition in mind. In fact, she was fifty pounds overweight and struggling to keep herself away from the same chronic diseases that plagued her family history. After seeing terrifying bloodwork, she made it a personal mission to empower herself with the knowledge needed to avoid a grim future of health. She turned to nutrition. Whole fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds became her prescription of choice. It was never a diet. She adopted a completely different lifestyle focused on nutrition, fitness, and wellness of mind. In the process she lost the extra fifty pounds she did not need and regained her health. In healing herself, Catherine wanted to use her own experiences to help others find their own path of wellness. She received the nutrition education and training necessary to help patients manage and prevent health problems, ranging from heart disease and cancer to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, digestive disorders, food allergies and more. She specializes in holistic, sustainable weight loss and weight gain, plant-based nutrition, vegan and vegetarian nutrition, natural and organic eating, and recipe and meal planning development. Catherine aspires to further her education by becoming Board Certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), a personal trainer, and going back to school for a master’s degree in public health. In her spare time, she loves developing new recipes, running, blogging and reading comics.
